I think taking second/third opinion is going to help and as far as your wife Immigiration case .. I think some members mentioned about talking to Attorney .. You can also drop a email to Sheila Mutrhy and Rajive Khanna. I am sure they will come out and help...

Yup, kshitijnt you are right on target, we need to do some thing constructive and let our voices heard.
BECSufferer made it right heading...channel your anger.
My intention was more to think in right way and discourage potential -ve result bound strategies.
During presidential campaign there were all over promises on clearing backlogs, we can go on that basis and make a point of that.
One thing is clear if they like to stop outsourcing sure they have to encourage and stream line legal immigration they cannot stop or survive but cutting outsourcing as well leaving this legal immigration in limbo.
Besides what we can do at this juncture, keep our voices heard by contacting, writing letters.
1. In a world leading country processing a decade back applications is not an encouraging trend to legal immigration, this may send a wrong signal to legal immigration over illegal immigration.
2. Can highlight ecomonic point based on these math...
Ex: 500,000 EB backlog persons contribution to the country, social taxes = xxx, medicare = xxx, travel=xxx, housing =xxx.

How about we come up with a skit where we can reenact the drama about the whole episode in a funny way. Where we can have people portraying roles of USCIS Director, Secrtary of State, Immigrants calling franctically to India to get their documents, parents running around to get doucments, the start of rumor, the employees of uscis working on sunday to adjudicate the cases, then the flip flop of DOS. etc. Then we can put this on youtube and will attract publicity.

RD: 26th July (sent on 25th July)
ND: 22nd Aug
140 was approved at NSC. No LUDs on my approved I-140 or H1s.
Attorney sent his checks, so don't know whether those checks are cleared or not.
Even though I applied 485, AP, EAD for me and for my wife in the same package, we
received receipt for only my I-495. Hey, I'm not complaining. Just passing this info to you guys.

My APs are pending approval, I was told they reimburse if we write to them. Did they reject your apps and paid you back the checks? We also got our cards this 15th, what do we need to do at the SSN office, please guide.

I got mine and my wife green cards on 21st august, Thursday.
Our case was approved on August 12th.
According to the trend I have seen it takes about 1.5 weeks to get your greencard in hand from the day you get the card production email.
Went to the Social Security office on 22nd. (I had actually calculated the day when I would get the cards looking at the trend on IV, so I had planned for it.)
The moment they see the GC (with a replacement card application of course) they know what to do. I think they do it very frequently.
Should get the new Social Security cards (which do NOT have a line at the top that says DHS authorization required to work), in a week or so.
Also I got I-131 DENIED email 2 days after my 485 was approved (I had applied for renewal). Yesterday got the letter form USCIS in the mail for the denial of I-131.

I had a LUD on 7/28 and nothing after that... My I140 approved in Texas in April2006. I think we should get the receipt number here pretty soon...

It seems like all the LUDs on approved I140 from Texas for July filers is pointing towards their I485 being sent to Texas too. Hence, this unimaginable prolonged delay. Can we do anything about it except sulk?

I am going to complete my 180 days by 1st week of Decemeber. The company I work for, is offering me a Project Manager position. My labor is filed for a programmer. I asked my lawyer and he told me that they sent a email to Florida State Workforce Agency to classify my new position and depending on the reply he tells me that I may or maynot port my labor.
Is anyone in the same boat? Is there any work around? I have been on H1 for 10 years now working for the same company (2 yrs as Contractor and 8 as employee), they have screwed me many times, I just don't want another disappointment. If this does not work, then I guess I have switch another company....

I got some good news. I called uscis just now and got two receipt numbers, one for 485 and one for EAD. Checks not cashed yet. I don't have the receipt number for AP yet. So it seems that our box is not lost and they're processing them, though so slowly. My application arrived on 7/3 at NSC, received by R. William at 9:03am.
Hope every one of us will receive our receipts, EAD and AP asap.
