Can you provide more details about you PD, RD, ND, category and did you see any soft LUDs before you received your cards in the mail?

SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

I fully support this rally...what I can do for now is to convince my friends to attend! I will also write some letters to TV and radio to cover this rally. I will also write on some blogs and invite others to attend the rally.

I agree absolutely. Living right here near DC and being a victim of the present USCIS mess, I still did not know about this campaign until a family member from India mentioned about it after reading it in the local newspaper.
I quickly signed up on this site and sent the flowers to be delivered yesterday.

Call them a lot of us did, when we got moved from one center (receipt notice) to another for processing. You should get a FP notice soon after you talked to them!

I agree with nousername and sledgehammer. It's funny how people justify unethical behavior by saying hey everybody is just trying to improve their own lives. Criminals are trying to improve their own life too and that doesn't excuse crime. The issue here is simple. This lady went for the quick and easy way out, applied for an H1B with some sleazy body shopper without having a project in hand and in the process, no doubt deprived someone better-deserving who actually had a job in hand.
Anyways, if you are not being paid, you are out of status. Best option for you is to apply for a COS to H4 right away so your out-of-status time doesn't come back to haunt you later. Without pay stubs it is doubtful that it will be approved so most probably you might have to go back to your home country and re-enter on an H4 stamp.
or if you are not getting paid you can complain to labor department. Your employer is that body shopper and he should pay you for the period of your h1. He has proved that he has capacity to pay you by filing for LCA and h1b. you having a project was never a condition for you getting paid from your employer. complain to labor department or USCIS if you are not getting paid.

I read and hear the same thing over and over again, NO SAVINGS,
It is also true for me, NO SAVINGS, We all earn a better salary from others since we are high level professionals, born from a indian family. Where are we wrong.
my first 3 years used to save money, from last 3 years i have no savings. better lifestyle than india. Canadian green card backed up. paid paid money to immigration lawyers for US and canada. , NO US education. Helped friends and relatives financially. Setup a business in india, just doing Okay.
Now i am thinking is it worth staying in US away from parents.
1. Good health (which we often take for granted)

2. US born kids (at least they are citizens, if that's important to you)
Not married no kids
3. US education (a different experience for sure)
No us education
4. Good savings (all said and done, your bank balance is very important no matter where you stay in the world)
No savings no big salary
5. Good work experience (this is transferable and more or less ensures a decent future)

While I feel the same pain that you do, what I would like to state is:
H1 is an unique employment scenario. H1s are hired to fill in shortages and hence employers are under no obligation to consider H1s ahead of green card holders or US citizens.
Also any good company that you want to work for will consider all candidates based on their skills and not the visa status.
So the company that says only GC holders or USC may not be a good company to work for in the end.

When xyz had his Eb-3 140 approved, by definition he was OK'd to be immigrant in that category with THAT date. When he files for an EB2 he is "OK'd" to be an immigrant in that category at THAT date.

Received FP notice today. The online tracker says following:
Current Status: Case received and pending.
On September 11, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.
My lawyer confirmed that the application was posted on august 2nd 07.
Can anyone help me figure out when is my receipt date? And from which date can I start counting 6 months to file ac21 ?

It high time that these guys get kicked on what ever, I have seen so many of my friends frustated due to non payment and get scarred to do anything against it..... I appreciate your courage , If they do bussiness and employ people they should legally pay, So many poeple come from India with kids and family and suffer so much when they are not getting paid on bench...I can only sympathise with their situation , Shame on such bussiness...BLOOD SUCKERS, MANIACS . I would say USCIS should create a law to punish these blood sucking monsters.

AFAIK when you file the A number is allocated. That is the "visa number", and it comes from the country/EB quotas.
once that is exhausted for a country/EB, you have to wait.
it is not the CIS being mean. That is the way the Congress wrote the law. CIS is just enforcing it.

I am seeing lot of ads in Dice that only citizens are need to apply. If that is a racism many companies would have been in trouble. If you are really sure that they are violating law you can apply for those positions and sue them as affected person. You may get millions of dollars if court finds that there is a racism in selection. I think if they eliminate particular group in US citizens(If they eliminate Indian origin or Chinese origin Citizens inspite of similar skills ) then that is a racism.
There have been quite a number of job positions restricting specific communities. This contradicts with the EEO. Its high time these are being highlighted...

My wife and I just got receipts for our I-485, I-140, AP and EAD. The "received date" is July 7 and the "Notice Date" is September 13. I also confirmed that the checks were cashed.
I remember my attorney saying that the applications were filed at NSC but somehow my receipts came from VSC. And this morning I receive an update that my I-485 has been transferred to TSC! Here is the detail:
"On September 20, 2007, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER
PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer".
