I am in exact same situation too. The notice date for EAD renewal is July 7th, 2008. I-485 pending at NSC and EAD applied at TSC. Still waiting. I am current as my PD is EB-2 India 9/2004.
Same with me. 485 pending at NSC, EAD pending at TSC - as per instructions in I765. NO Luds, just silence.

Here is my USPS status so far , they are slow in updating than Fedex/UPS.
Its also true that for Next day delivery they charge $20-25 but Fedex/UPS charges $80-$100. Lets hope it actually reaches there.

Mine is EB2, reached July 2nd at 7.55 AM Fedex received by Robin Williams at NSC and I got the check cashed and has receipt numbers but my I140 LUD is not changed. But my I-140 was already approved and it was not concurrent filling. So if its not concurrent filing then I think I140 LUD should not change or not related to 485 receipt notice? Am I right?

Guys,
as long as there is a leeway, people do tend to take the maximum advantage of that leeway. this applies in life in every aspect. OP did the same.
being moral or ethical is not the criterion here I guess, otherwise we would all have (I,C) have been current ( if no labor subs, eb3 to eb2 conversions etc).
I feel bad too, seeing some one who landed on H1B in 2006 , got hold of a 2002 labor sub. and is enjoying GC right now(thanks to July 2007 fiasco)., and for crying out loud I have been in USA since 2001, went to school here, is working in a physical science research position, have one patent and filed for 2 more.
I consider myself to have contributed to the USA, more than the guy I gave an example of (in terms of taxes, tuition, original research, etc). But does that all matter to the other guy, when he did what he did.

Looks like the world we are living in does not care about conventional wisdom any more....
--- Conventional wisdom says, if you are talented and hard working you will be rewarded. This does not matter to EB Folks as there is per country limit.
--- Conventional wisdom says, if you found a good company to invest in, you are sure to make profits . This does not matter in the current Wall Street and economic environment.
--- Conventional wisdom says, if you have good education from top US university you are most probably gonna get good job. However this does not matter as long as there are desi Consultants who exploit the system.
--- Conventional wisdom says, if you work hard and smart enough you are bound to get promoted. This does not matter to EB Folks as there is retrogression to make you do the same job until you get frustrated.
--- Conventional wisdom says, if you have good bank balance you can get richer. This does not matter as you try to multiply your savings by investing in a House / Stock Market you lose all you saved to foreclosure or to wall street goons.
--- Conventional wisdom says, being ethical and honest is the best policy. This does not matter as someone else gets the job you applied for with their cooked up resume.
And the list goes on and on every front in your life.......and whom do we we blame, but the system that encourages this bad behaviour....

Thanks for the update. Let me share my concern with the CIR. Do you think that someone (lawmakers) is going to officially vote for the CIR to die? I don't believe so. Discussions, debates, political bickering and fingerpointing can drag on for months and even years because no one is officially willing to kill it for obvious political reasons. How long do you think we (IV) can wait until we start pushing for other bills?

I agree with you on this kaka. I heard Ed Royce speak yesterday on how the house forced the fence bill without amnesty and how they plan on killing that bill. He even talked on on how they managed to force the president to have a pulblic ceremony to sign the bill instead of a small private one that the white house wanted. There is little hope that he and people like him will ever vote on anything that supports our requirements, even if the democrats win the house they will need lots of republican support to pass anything. Skill will always be linked to CIR.

Now you are going to protest porting..do u have a slightest idea of how it is to wait for 10 years in the GC queue. This is not because people were not eligible for EB2 at that time, but rather due to the lawyer and employer mess ups. And there is no wrong in someone going to the front of the queue if they were able to prove that they are eb2 worthy..

If they apply for Eb3 then that guy gets stuck with that consulting firm for like 10 more years ! Which employer doesn't want that !!! Many of my friends have got stuck in EB3 lines due to employer/lawyer deliberate-goofups !! If they leave the company, they risk the money they gave for previous GC processes + the client.... becoz of contract terms... etc...
If EB3 candidates are eligible for EB2 porting, they MUST go for it...
If that is going to delay EB2, then so be it.... Its the right thing to do...

When xyz had his Eb-3 140 approved, by definition he was OK'd to be immigrant in that category with THAT date. When he files for an EB2 he is "OK'd" to be an immigrant in that category at THAT date.
Based on the same language English that you have studied, and I have studied, the term 'That' refers to Eb-3's PD. One cannot just throwaway all the merit earned on Eb-3. Which precisely what you are asking one to do.

same way you prove that in the case of I-140... by writing up letters exlaining job duties... and showing offer letter, pay stubs, company tax returns and/or quarterly tax receipts, client contracts... etc etc etc...
